Day Three Update | 7-Day Water Fast
Joe reports that hunger, food thoughts, and dread arrived in brief waves during day three rather than as a constant state. He interprets continuing through those waves as a practice of self-mastery.

Detailed notes
A closer look at the ideas, examples, and reasoning Joe presents in this recording.
Day three arrives in waves
At the end of day three of a planned seven-day water fast, Joe reports smooth energy alongside several warning signs. Standing after sitting seemed to bring a delayed rush of blood to his head. Food occupied his imagination more often, and ordinary meals began to sound unusually appealing.
Joe calls these episodes food delusions. His response was to interrupt the fantasy immediately and reaffirm that eating was not an available option. A stronger wave of dread appeared around four or five in the afternoon, but he says it passed quickly and gave way to renewed confidence later that evening.
The account is a contemporaneous personal log, not a demonstration that light-headedness or dread during an extended fast is routine or safe.
Function continued despite the symptoms
Joe describes remaining active through walking, workplace inspections, dishes, and household chores. He felt capable overall, though he admits that his water intake was probably inadequate. The contrast matters to him: discomfort appeared in episodes rather than filling every hour, and ordinary tasks continued between them.
His interpretation of adaptation
Joe says each successive fasting day makes the body rely more heavily on stored fat and therefore makes the process easier. He extends that belief into a broad claim that nearly anyone can complete the fast through mastery of cravings and self-command.
Those physiological and eligibility claims are Joe’s. The recording includes no metabolic measurements, health screening, or evidence that an extended water fast becomes safer as it continues. What it does document clearly is the pattern Joe noticed on day three: confidence, food fixation, physical symptoms, and dread could replace one another within a few hours rather than forming one continuous state.
