Why I Haven't Been Sick in Years (Hint: Mushroom Drops)
Joe credits calorie-free mushroom tincture drops — shiitake, reishi, maitake — with keeping him sickness-free since mid-2017, and details his delivery rules: drops never pills, any beverage, any cheap brand, three to six weeks to build up.

The founding mushroom-drops claim
This May 2019 clip is the origin point of a supplement claim Joe repeats for years afterward: since adding medicinal mushroom drops to his routine in mid-2017 — shiitake, reishi, and maitake, in a blend that also lists ashwagandha and licorice root — he says he has not been sick once. No cold, no sore throat, not after close contact with a woman getting over the flu, not after working around kids in his community mentoring. The only ailment he reports is an oversleeping headache, which he notes is unrelated. This is Joe's personal claim from his own experience, offered without clinical evidence, and he acknowledges he first heard of the mushrooms from a man he considered kooky.
How he says to take them
The mechanics matter to Joe. He insists on liquid tinctures rather than pills or tablets, claiming the body breaks drops down more efficiently. Brand is unimportant — about eleven dollars at stores like Sprouts — and because the drops are calorie-free, he squeezes them into whatever he already drinks each morning, coffee or tea or juice, sweetened or not, without concern for his fast. His routine also includes gotu kola and red Chinese ginseng; he mentions the longevity lore around gotu kola while explicitly declining to claim it grants immortality. He says the effect takes three to six weeks to build up, and recommends the drops as a permanent habit, weight-loss phase or not, barring mushroom allergy.
